Video Sites: They Do Grow on Trees!
We’ve been contacted by Scroon, a new French video and photo sharing site that’s gearing up for launch. The site, which is currently password-protected, seems well-done, with all the features you’d expect.
Scroon says their differentiator is full mobile integration, including compatibility with 100 percent of European WAP phones, as well as messaging, playlists, and content subscription within the mobile interface. We asked GigaOM resident mobile expert Katie to give things a look, and she was underwhelmed, saying the advertised mobile functionality is pretty similar to what she’s seeing across the board.
Scroon plans to launch on December 20, and claims it will soon announce major European media and telecom partners. It promises to dole out invites to NewTeeVee readers who leave their email addresses in the comments. Beta junkies, step right up.
