Afternoon Surf: Modeo gets interim CEO
CEO, for now: Mobile TV network Modeo is still set to launch in New York by year-end, but will do so with an interim CEO, according to Telephony’s Kevin Fitchard. Taking the interim seat is Michael Ramke, an exec with Modeo owner Crown Castle.
Cisco in your living room: On the eve of the company’s analyst meetings (which we will be covering), C/Net’s Maggie Reardon weighs in with a lengthy examination of Cisco’s move into the living room, courtesy of digital info devices like set-top boxes. “It’s going to be really important for us over the next few years to get closer to the media companies, such as Disney, Viacom, Time Warner, etc.,” says Cisco exec Dan Scheinman, who is heading the new media solutions group at Cisco.
