WebReel: Dailymotion, Google, Veoh and Maven
Stuff from ’round the web today:
Dailymotion, everyone’s favorite source for content that’s been removed from YouTube, is cleaning itself up and cutting its first licensing deals. Today it announced an ad-share agreement with Warner Music Group, everyone’s favorite dealmaker.
Google is expanding its Adsense testing on video content to include Sony BMG and — them again! — Warner Music Group. We had previously written about Google handing ads for videoblog Beet.TV, but that was with a single advertiser, more like a sponsorship than AdSense.
Veoh Networks ties up with Us Weekly to produce an ad-supported celebrity entertainment channel, combining magazine content with edited user-generated submissions. Veoh has made public note that this deal and last week’s one with United Talent Agency were brokered by investor Michael Eisner.
Maven Networks launched a division for consulting to major media companies on the creation of broadband video channels. The company already provides such services to CBS’s College Sports Television, The Weather Channel, and others.
