Clubland Documentary Premiering Online
From the team that produced Cocaine Cowboys and Raw Deal, comes a new production, Clubland. This forty-episode documentary series about competing nightclubs in South Beach will be broadcast online starting in February (see it on MySpace).
The relatively low production costs of documentaries and the current craze for ‘reality’ content make them a natural fit for web video. We don’t see any signs of monetizing lurking besides a vodka ad on the clubland.tv page, so honestly, this seems to be a really involved promotional effort for the group’s DVDs.
Based on the previews, I’d totally watch it. Frankly, the Miami club scene is best lived vicariously.
