Daily Reel Launches Video Podcast

One of NewTeeVee’s own must-reads, The Daily Reel, has been produced a twice-weekly three-minute news and clip show, “The Daily Reel Podcast.” Hosted by assistant editor Felicia Williams, it’s got all the cheery, enthusiastic, flip touches you’ve come to expect from the web news format set by Rocketboom, but focused on online video news. If you’re interested in this particular niche of the webosphere (and if you’re reading this, you probably are) it’s definitely something to check out.

The show discusses hot stories from the site’s feed. This episode features segments on the ‘Hillary 1984′ ad, the YouTube Awards and the Pirates of the Caribbean promotional campaign. Personally, I’m still a fan of the speed and depth you get with plain old text, but if you’re digesting your online video primarily through a service like FireAnt or the Democracy Player, it’s a great way to mix news and views on ‘the scene’ into your content feed.
