Streaming Media East Roundup

Can’t make it to New York this week for Streaming Media East? Don’t worry, blogs about video and videobloggers are on the scene, so no there’s no need to navigate Midtown Manhattan wearing a nametag.

Beet.TV has been dubbed the “official vlog” for Streaming Media East. Here, Andy Plesser interviews Craig Barberich about Adobe’s new video player. Look for more video reports from Beet.TV today and tomorrow as the conference progresses.

What do people at a video streaming conference do? Stream live video! Online network TV Worldwide is has a live feed of panels and interviews. The site is also archiving interview segments in case you missed anything.

Steve Safran of Lost Remote is blogging from the conference floor, and as I’m telling everyone these days, “Text: It’s the wave of the future.” The latest post regards HD-over-IP streaming solutions and how local broadcasters are missing the boat in terms of quality they could be delivering to their audience.

Of course, lots of companies are marking the occasion by issuing their own press releases. CacheLogic announced a new CDN service with variable price-performance options and Agency.com has partnered with PermissionTV to offer broadband video campaigns for clients.

Of course, show sponsor Streaming Media has plenty of coverage, including Microsoft’s keynote speech focused on its new video and animation application Silverlight.
