Friday Vid Picks: Politicos’ Videos

With the election a mere 536 days away, politics has really come into its own in the online video world. Soon will come the day when we will be able to see every waking minute of President Justin.tv’s White House life. Terrifying. Here are some viral political highlights.

The Economist called dorm-bound James Kotecki “probably the world’s foremost expert on YouTube videos posted by presidential candidates.” Impressive for a Georgetown senior (he’s graduating this weekend, so it’ll be a few days before he comments on Hillary’s latest post).

Combining Sen. John Edwards, a two-minute long take, a comb, and a little West Side Story results in candid candidate magic.

If you’ve ever played Drinking State of the Union you’ll appreciate this bit of crafty editing recapping the May 3 Republican debate, originally aired on Real Time with Bill Maher. And if you haven’t played Drinking State of the Union, I don’t think you’re doing your civic duty.
