Video Showdown: FutureCasting

Video Showdown is an irregular series where we ask you to vote for your favorite of two similar videos.

We’ve all seen The Terminator, and while I might not be a God-fearing man, I sure am a Skynet-fearing man (GoogleSkynet being the sentient global computer network that nukes humanity back the stoneage). Will you be ready when the zombies machines arise? Wired.com’s Epicenter calls the faux documentaries futurecasting, but what do you think?

2014 EPIC, by Google

Googlezon is the scariest idea ever. Focusing on big tech company names, EPIC goes from documenting the rise of the internet to predicting where it will go. Made by Robin Sloan for the Museum of Media History, there’s a newer version too.

Prometeus - The Media Revolution

The creator of Blade Runner and Minority Report must be right! Focusing more on the epistemological and ontological questions of “information” and “experience,” this video was created by the Italian consultancy Casaleggio Associates. The media revolution is now.
