Advertising/Content Pier Screenings Recap
Last night the Sony Metreon protected us from the cold San Francisco summer night, offering us our first indoors venue for the NewTeeVee and Metacafe Pier Screenings. We had a crowd of about 200 out to enjoy videos combining both advertising and content as well as a Q&A with Lonelygirl15 creator Greg Goodfried.
“Karate-Kicking Colonel“, embedded above, was the audience’s winner. The clip was actually professionally made by sponsor KFC, but had an amateur aesthetic judge Greg Goodfried raved about. The video features “experiential artist” Phil Hansen creating a mural of Colonel Sanders using KFC’s new boneless wings’ Teriyaki sauce as his medium — and at times, his feet as his implements.
In second place was “Dontcha,” an iPhone love song, with creators Nora McDevitt, Randi Zuckerberg, David Prager, and Irina Slutsky present to receive their award. And in third place was “Get Engaged Quickly,” an advertisement for 10ton, itself an online video advertising firm.
Stay tuned for additional event announcements — the next screening will be August 20 in San Francisco.
A big thank you to our sponsors for making last night’s event possible.
