You should check out musicsponsor.net they provide free CD production for musicians by matching the musicians with commercial sponsors that pay for the disc by insert ads on the inside of the CD.

One of my best purchasing experiences was buying an independent documentary - Orwell Rolls In His Grave. It was a very anti-Macrovision experience.

I originally came across a low resolution version of complete movie on Google video - which I downloaded and watched. Because it was good, I bought a copy. I could have bought it from Amazon, but I went directly to the publisher's site instead.

When my DVD arrived, the packaging gave the impression it had been put together on someone's kitchen table. Inside was a post card for the movie, with a hand-written 'thank you' message from the director.

I really liked the cottage industry feeling. I ripped the DVD to .mp4 and added it to my collection for instant access. (I hate DVDs.)

If you would rather be punched in the face by your customers than hugged - get Macrovision. That'll piss them off.

Yes, but you are forgetting that Macrovision has p2p protection product called Hawkeye. So, between RipGuard and Hawkeye, they should be able to comprehensively cover all avenues.
