Pier Screenings Judges: Obama Girl, Vimeo, The Burg

NewTeeVee will be in New York City next week for a special edition of our Pier Screenings online video show series. This month’s theme is “love stories” (and there’s still time for you to enter your video here). We’re please to announce that our judges are NYC-based video makers.

benamber.jpgAmber Lee Ettinger, a.k.a. Obama Girl, and Ben Relles, the co-creator of Obama Girl, have been making us laugh and wince with their timely odes to presidential candidates and American troops. They’ll be co-judging, bringing with them an eye for tenderness in a video love story.

jakoblodwick.jpgJakob Lodwick, founder of personal video-sharing site Vimeo and a prolific video creator himself, is next up. You can learn absolutely everything there is to know about him by following his frequent online dispatches at Obeastiality.com. We’re considering him our expert judge on authenticity.

927879.jpgAnd last but not least, we have Kathleen Grace, creator, producer, and director of The Burg, “a serial sitcom about the life of the beautiful people in Brooklyn’s recently gentrified hotspot,” as Jackson described it in March. In addition to working on the production of feature films and television shows, she also started the NYC-based comedic street theater company the Suitcase Players. The Burg was also a finalist at the July Pier Screening. We hope she’ll chip in comments about the humor quotient of our entrants.

P.S. If you’re in New York and want to meet up, let us know! We’ll be around for most of next week. The contact form goes straight to my inbox.
