Funny or Die Launches Shred or Die

Perhaps in response to critics calling Funny or Die a one-hit wonder, the comedy site has launched a new extreme sports site, Shred or Die.

The Hollywood Reporter writes that Shred or Die will follow the same celebrity infusion formula that made FoD a hit, by enlisting the help of famed skater/one-man-industry Tony Hawk. Hawk has taped interviews with other sports celebs including Lance Armstrong and Shaun White for SoD.

And just like FoD, SoD will feature user-generated extreme sports content that will live or, well, die on the site, depending on their popularity. FoD is expected to launch further verticals based on the “(fill in the blank) or die” concept soon.

  1. The “jump back 5 seconds” button is a really great idea, giving their embed something that sets it apart. It’s perfect for watching Ed Helms eat it repeatedly on a BMX.
