If we're looking at re-inventing movie production for the networked world we shouldn't be basing business models on DVD sales and asses on seats at the multiplex. The only films that work at mutliplexes (and I ain't got the stats to hand) and blockbuster action pics and endless sequels - indie films that match the less than $10m budget don't do good business in those venues.
