NTV Live Video Recap: Mika Salmi, MTVN
Om and Liz kicked off the NewTeeVee Live Conference with special guest Mika Salmi, president of global digital media for MTV Networks. Watch as he talks about where he thinks the industry is heading, social networks, and managing multiple digital brands.
Among other things, Salmi said that traffic to the new and improved web presences of The Daily Show and The Colbert Report spiked when the Writers Guild Strike started, halted new episodes, and went to reruns. Apparently their audiences were looking to self-serve their fixes.
(NOTE: Mika’s talk starts about a minute and a half into the clip.)
