NTV Live Video Recap: MySpace

Liz closed out the business portion of our jam-packed NewTeeVee Live conference with a sit-down discussion with Amit Kapur, vice president of business development at MySpace. The conversation starts with Liz asking Kapur about MySpace’s exclusive deals with Lonelygirl15, Prom Queen, and Quarterlife. We assumed that MySpace would have had to pay something to get such premium web shows, and it’s been widely reported, especially in the case of Quarterlife, that this was the case. However Kapur said that MySpace has made no upfront payments for video content, but rather guarantees creators it will promote and feature content and share any sponsorship or advertising revenue it makes.
