Please increase the feed to 20-25 posts (or at least allow me to make a custom feed query)!

Long-time reader, first-time poster here. In general, thanks for your great work — journalistic coverage of the new-media marketplace is largely poor, and you guys fill the niche really well.

Posting: I find the number of daily posts to be neither over- nor underwhelming, but if I had to choose, I can’t imagine being bothered by more posts, so long as the overall quality of the blog’s not diluted.

Quick hits don’t bother me; I’d rather get breaking news immediately, even if I have to wait for your analysis. Plus, it’d give you guys a chance to post noteworthy news even if analysis isn’t necessary (sometimes, cool links speak for themselves). Anyway, more posts = more chances to attract new readers, so it seems like a good direction for you.

Content: Nothing in particular stands out as bad, but I think you could do more in terms of featuring and reviewing individual sites and services. With so many sites emerging (and so many of them impossible to distinguish from one another), it’s really tough to keep track of who’s doing what well. Sometimes lame sites have good ideas, and vice versa; I think you’re in a good position to explore such things.

As a writer and reader, one of my favorite themes is exploring flaws in media coverage, so I’d love to see more of that. Today’s “Break It Down” was nicely done, for instance.

Design: I’m with the RSS readers — this doesn’t really make a difference to me. But I’d rethink the logo and header, and add tags; topicsjust don’t do it for me, especially considering that almost everything could be considered “Online Video.” Make the tags RSS-friendly, too, so users can subscribe to them on an a-la-carte basis.

Content: What I’m personally interested in is news about online content… new web shows that might be interesting, and how they’re being distributed (which sites they use), and the production involved behind them. I’m less interested in gadget news, or who just got some funding (no offense to anyone intended, just not my thing).

Design: I mostly read the articles in a feedreader, so I can’t say that the design is all that important to me.

More info on ground breaking projects would be cool. I’m either working on something new or researching the next new thing, so this is of great
interest to me.

Content: Maybe more long tail projects in the works. More mobile content that relates to video would be nice too.

Design: I never click those featured videos.

Design = it’s great, but I read 90% of NTV on RSS and only see design when I click to comment.

Content = You guys are so on top of all the topics I want to know about! Srsly. You’re numero uno on my feed reader, so I feel like you ‘break’ all the stories even if one of the ‘others’ did first… Length is great. Embeded vids are great. Amount of posts is great.

Content = I would love to see more about “How To” for indie producers. Loved, loved, loved Chris’s post yesterday about what video producers are charging and what are trends with costs… but more topics along the lines of how to help video bloggers and producers make this a career.

Content = I know she’s a busy woman, but I really love Karina’s coverage of new shows, vids. More plz!
