Nichols on “Ninja Day,” Not His $100K
Holy crap! Had I known Kent Nichols and the Ask a Ninja crew were pulling in $100,000 a month in ad revenue, merchandising and licensing, I would have asked him an entirely different set of questions at the recent Winnie awards. TV Week lists the Ninjas as prime examples of people who have parlayed their online fame into cash. Lower on that list: Andy Plesser of Beet.tv ($15,000 a month), and iJustine ($1,000 a month).
But alas, Nichols’ lack of flash, unkempt hair and low-key demeanor belied the piles of money he swims in like Scrooge McDuck. All I asked him about about was the upcoming Ninja Day, on Dec. 5, and what famous rat will be in attendance.
Liz is gonna have my head.

Very good article. now if I can get ads for my client, i’ll be on my way.
Definitely not the easiest thing to get, even when you have well over the 100k visits a month. And each visitor avg. at least 3 video views.
The biggest problem i ran into with karrine.com were ad companies wanting us to change the entire site to incorporate their layer. When i can easily modify our player to accept ads and setup the proper UI needed to control them. but i guess it’s a give and take. And i need t give a little.
Don’t worry about it Chris, It’s the Internet. You can interview him again via iChat AV.
That’s it; I’m not buying Kent a drink ever again. And I’m going to stop saying I’ll have a PBR when he offers.
really liked the articles on web stars… find a follow up video the reporter did…
