In hopes that the primaries soon would be theirs.

Huckabee: What Really Matters

Giuliani: “Holiday Wishes”

I was really hoping that Rudolph Giuliani would have made some witty play on the Red-Nosed Reindeer namesake. Instead we get this video, in which the punch line is the mud-slinging fest that is the ‘08 campaign trail. Also note the festive red ribbons on the letterbox. And because Giuliani’s so generous, here’s his other holiday ad.

McCain: “My Christmas Story”

The New York Times blog Laugh Lines picked Sen. McCain for “Best Debate Sound Bite From a Republican” for his comment about not being able to attend Woodstock because he was “tied up at the time.” Watch the clip here.

Clinton: Presents

Credit must go the Clinton campaign for avoiding the talking-head-in-front-of-the-tannenbaum setup in this clip. For while it looked like most of the candidates used the same generic family room as a set, at least Clinton spiced it up with some closeups and even a racking focus shot. Although I am kind of weirded out by the fact that the wrapping paper, the couch, and her pantsuit all match.

Obama: “Friendship”

Going with the classic family Christmas card setup, the Obamas have the trimmed-up tree, the roaring fire, and the stockings hung by the chimney with care. The only thing missing are some cringe-worthy holiday sweaters.
