I agree with you. I think Microsoft has a lot to prove before we can take them seriously. That said, I have seen some of their deployments and the work they have done, which makes me a tad more hopeful for 2008.

Both Microsoft and Sony have had huge opportunities in the past to be the center of the digital home – but their continued push of their own proprietary formats rather than supporting a broad range of standards have made it too hard for media companies, content creators, and others to spend time adopting it. I will take a “wait and see” approach.
