Most Popular Pirated Movie and TV Shows
If there was ever any doubt that nerds love BitTorrent, TorrentFreak has a great list of the most popular movies and TV shows of 2007 that were downloaded through torrent sites — and it is chock-full of geek entertainment.
Topping the list of movies was Transformers, followed by other guy-friendly fare like Knocked Up, 300, and The Bourne Ultimatum. But also finding their way onto the list were some surprises, such as Mark Wahlberg’s flop Shooter, the Nicholas Cage flop Next (though having Jessica Biel probably didn’t hurt), and the shouldn’t-have-been-a-flop Hot Fuzz (from the guys behind Shaun of the Dead).
As for TV, sci-fi and action shows were in high demand, with Heroes coming in at No. 1; Battlestar Galactica, Lost, 24 and Prison Break also proved to be popular. Breaking the male grip on the list was Desperate Housewives, at No. 6.
