More CES: DivX, Chocolate Rain, Avid
As fast as publicists can pump out releases, we’re updating the site with the latest news from the Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas. There’s been a flurry of activity already:
DivX announced content distribution partnerships with Next New Networks, Vuze, Veoh and Jaman for the DivX Connected media player it’s building with D-Link.
Internet sensation Tay “Chocolate Rain” Zonday may have jumped the shark; he signed a deal with Waterfall Mobile that will allow consumers to purchase “Rain” ringtones and interact with him.
Pinnacle, the consumer division of Avid Technology, is targeting consumers who don’t want to spend a lot of time making movies with its launch of VideoSpin, a free, downloadable noob-friendly video editing application.
Motorola will use Veveo’s vTap service to enable web video search, discovery and viewing.
BitTorrent (the company) added D-Link and Netgear as device partners.
Broadcast International and On2 Technologies are partnering to bring real-time, HD video to PCs and handheld devices.
We’ll keep you up-to-date on all the latest out of CES, so stay tuned.

downloading videospin on a PC I have here. Pinnacle’s stuff holds a place in my heart. The first consumer editor I used was Pinnacle Studio 7 back in early 2001.
While many people had compatibility issues with Pinnacle software I had nothing but good experiences. Powerful software that was easy to use.
This looks like they took Studio 7 and removed a few features and gave it an even more friendly look. If it works, this should be a good option for beginners on a PC.
