GerardoB, I'm increasingly convinced that video search isn't that relevant. It's all about browsing and recommendations. What do you use video search for?

@Matt_ - Looks like the HP SmartMedia TV has the ability to access content on your PC; but you can't surf the web. What we need is a way to wirelessly display the PC on the TV - this will bring internet media into the living room. I think in a few years new PCs and TVs will have this ability built in.

I was hoping to hear something about the effects on the panelist's businesses from video search engines like Google/YouTube and the search specialists.

Search can bing to audiences the millions and billions of user and professional media out there, maybe all of it, at different qualities of user experience. Also, the presenters could be in position to become channels for a range of user experiences from high-def/high-touch to iPod, with huge access potential.

'TV' and Video Search touch in several areas. Balance of user experience and access to content is key to the market. The Future of Content Creation directly affects multimedia access needs. So what is the next end-game for moving image (TV or video)? If the medium is the message, let the message fit the medium?

@rsstv HP already have a Media center TV.

http://h71036.www7.hp.com/hho/cache/366142-0-0-225-121.html

Other Consumer Electronics Companies are looking at TVs that have browsers and a internet connection expect to see them at next years CES .

Then theres the game consoles that have browsers and internet services like the weather, news channel like the Wii and PS3 people don't seem to mind buying those as an extra box .

Another box to buy? No thanks. The PC and TV will eventually come together (isn't someone working on this?). Then it'll just be a mad race to become the dominant viewing platform (Joost? Veoh?).
