Tom Cruise, Spoofed by Superhero Movie
The trend of releasing sequences from upcoming films online has taken off over the past few months — Alien vs. Predator: Requiem did it, Dark Knight did it, Walk Hard did it. But never has it made as much sense than in the case of upcoming spoof flick Superhero Movie, which has posted a two-minute clip that will look familiar to fans of Tom Cruise (or Jerry O’Connell):
In this excerpt, Miles Fisher does an eerily dead-on impersonation of Cruise’s infamous leaked Scientology indoctrination video. (I think Jerry O’Connell gets the voice a little better, actually, but Fisher’s laugh is just exceptional.)Although the title might lead one to believe that the movie is directed by the same, um, “filmmakers” behind such, er, “films” as Date Movie and Epic Movie, Superhero Movie is actually written and directed by Craig Mazin, who, while credited as a writer on the last few Scary Movies, has a proven track record when it comes to satirizing superheroes in a creative way.
How this clip actually fits into the film is of course completely unclear — though clues such as “Dragonfly…He can’t even fly! I, I can fly…” indicate it has something to do with the film’s main character. And the overall quality of this spoof is a sign that even if Mazin is following the format of previous pop culture parodies, he’s at least pushing it to the next level — specifically, the funny place.

Good impersonation, but so what? The mere fact that something is like something else is no guaranteer of humor, something which the makers of dismal parody movies could stand to learn.
Getting your audience to go “hey, I recognize that meme!” is not the same thing as comedy.

Tom Cruise one of the finest performances and respested role and his cunning negoiation for his salary was his role in the LAST SAMERI. His work ethic impressed the sternest of Japanese stunt actors and Sword masters they actually applauded him for his work ethic and his excellence in his work. Saying all that Tom is a excellent actor. Once he marry Katie Holmes and his Scientology ways came to light on and over her life and now the chikldren life.With all the special cleannning diets and all the restrctions being put on Katie and the kids Its come to light how utterly crazy he is. Katie holmes was one of the sweetest people always with a good word and a smile on her face. I haven’t seen that smile in years and she looks clincally depressed most of the time.I no dr. but something is very wrong. Her parents are worried and her old freinds that are still allowed to see her are mortified at the changes. Cruise as good as he is at acting I would pay a cent to see anything he is apart of,he even telling Katie what she can and can’t do as far as roles. He has in essence enslaved her for his own pleasure, if she is asked she most of the time will tell everyone she and Tom are fine but in scret that’s not the line. Katie is scared not so much for her self but with Tom’s money,Laywers and connections if she gets out of line she loses her chilren. She wouldnt stand a chance and she knows it and so does everyone else. He has the power to do what ever he wants.
