MLB Tv Is Sooooo BAD, i just have to vent. Please, for you own sanity, however big a baseball fan you are, spare yourself the agony and aggravation. It's practically ruined the sport for me, and I'm about as big a baseball fan as you could ever find.

PROBLEMS: 1. Complete arrogance and disrespect for customers. If you want to sign up, get ready to be abused, ignored, and frustrated.

Horrible, shoddy product. I could go on and on about the lack of service, the sketchy service, the promised service and the bottom line...I get teased into watching a little of a game, transmission goes out, then i get commercials trying to get me to sign up for the product that i've paid for that isn't being delivered. Is that strange. I'm seething in frustration because I've lost the feed that I've paid $35 for, at the crucial time of the game, and it's replaced by an ad trying to get me to sign up.
MLB TV ruins the dignity of the game. When you see that the traditions and responsibilities for providing entertainment with major league baseball have fallen in to the hands of these incompetent buffoons, and the sport itself is so mishandled, you just may end up hating it and cursing the whole charade.

IT IS NOT FIXED!! This service is a bust right now for many subscribers. After numerous issues - obviously shared by many given the amount of posts on their board I received this email today from the developer of NexDef a required component.

"We have been working with MLB to help solve issues such as the one you are experiencing. The good news is, that it, more then likely, has nothing to do with your system. The bad news is that it is still a problem and it needs to be fixed. Please be patient and the problem will be solved as soon as possible. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding."

For $109.95 I have no patience. I suggest disgruntled patrons initiate a chargeback from their credit card company as MLB is totally unresponsive vis-a-vis refunds. They will not refund your money after a 5-day trial policy.

Indeed, MLBAM provides infrastructure for March Madness on Demand.

From Information Week (3-19-08):

Major League Baseball’s (MLB) Advanced Media Group provides MMOD’s video processing and encoding services, CBS Interactive CTO Mark Kortekaas said. MLB streams hundreds of baseball games, sometimes as many as 15 at a time, so it has the infrastructure in place to handle MMOD which has, at most, four games going at a time at its peak. MLB takes feeds from the broadcast center to its office via a dedicated circuit, encodes it, inserts ads, then hands it all off to Akamai which provides content delivery services.
