  1. The February 2009 deadline is specific to over-the-air broadcasts and is not related to cable services. Verizon worked some sort of deal to switch to all-digital to delay the deployment of CableCARD STBs. Not sure the relationship, but someone must get it.

  2. Actually before “plunkng down money” on it, we carefully considered whether it was a topic without coverage and interesting. :-)

    Quoting our director of content from Variety: ““We’ll be picking and choosing our projects on the basis of getting the most amount of attention to the widest public possible on issues, such as the environment, which are important to Babelgum. This was a good starting point.””
