comScore: Video Views up 66% YoY

comScore today said it measured an increase in U.S. video views and video viewers for February, up 3 percent from January but not quite back to the record highs of December.

For a little more context, though, comScore noted the 10.1 billion videos viewed was a 66 percent year-over-year leap from last February. So the overall trend is far from flat.

YouTube has gained even more market share, rising to 35.4 percent of videos consumed in the month. And Google sites’ 81.8 million unique viewers came to the site an average of 109.4 minutes over the course of the month, which is a stunning 10 times more than the nearest competitor, Fox Interactive Media (MySpace). But down at the bottom of the list, ABC.com’s high-quality streaming video drew an average of 51.2 minutes out of its 7 million viewers.

The average U.S. online video viewer consumed 75 videos in February. I wonder how our personal stats would compare!
