Thanks for writing about our efforts. But we wouldn’t still be fighting if we thought for even a second that season 3 wasn’t a real possiblity. We have lives, families, careers, and everyday life interruptous going on too. But we are not only fighting for Jericho, we are also fighting against the very much outdated Nielsen rating system. I am one of those people who enjoy watching TV. But sometimes life gets in the way and we can’t watch TV live. I watch about 50% of all my shows online, because I may have 2 shows on at the sametime and have to choose which one to watch live. They, the networks, are pushing viewers to watch online, but when they don’t have butts in the seats, so to speak, they cancel a series because Nielsen says the ratings are low. This is crap and it is time it changes. It is not the 1950’s any longer, networks need to stand behind online and download viewers.

Wonderful article….RP did such a great job and the Jericho rangers are such wonderful people. I have never seen a more passionate, generous group of people in my life.
I sure hope that the networks will realize that Jericho fans are here to stay.

Thanks Chris we need all the help we can get. I’m amazed at the skill intelligence loyalty and the fierce drive that the leaders of this rag-tag group of rangers have. Perhaps other shows cancelled not to return had our leadership. These people fight not for just Jericho but for quality TV. I for one miss this show so much. With people like RP Were sure to win. Jericho is a great show the only one i made sure not to miss.

Thanks for interviewing RP. He has been a great supporter of Jericho and is a wonderful graphic artist. I think the TV ad is fantastic-I still can't believe Brad Beyer did the voiceover.

Jericho is a family show (not a stupid reality show) that is quality programming. I am sure it will get picked up by a different cable or network tv. Jericho-season 3 and beyond!

Chris, nice article. I will say as one of the organizers of the TV Ad I believe it will have a very positive affect on getting the attention of Network and Cable Executives. The thought was to turn the tables and use television to sell our selves, the millions of Fans of Jericho to those executives. From the time the show was officially cancelled back in March of 2008 the Fans have been working in partnership with Paramount who owns and produces Jericho and which is a separate division from CBS Television network to find potential partners to help produce a third season..

Rubber Poultry has put together a unique calling card for the Fans. Jericho is a show that crosses all demographic boundaries and is viewed all over the world via the internet. We are banking on there is a smart executive out there looking to tap into a fan base of loyal customers of over 7 million who have shelled out close to $30,000 out of their own money in support of one of the best scripted shows on television.

There's no doubt that CBS won't pick up Jericho again. After all it's not cheap to make and bears more relation to reality than the cheap UNreality shows that networks keep shoving down our throats.

See here's the thing - you get what you pay for. So the networks get cheap shows. If the viewers were happy about that, then why did we spend all those DOLLARS buying our own advertising, donating to charity, sending DVDs to the troops yada, yada . . . instead of spending those dollars on products that CBS advertised?

Oh, right, because we were not watching the CHEAP shows and didn't see the advertising.

BIG HINT there advertisers - get a clue.

Wow! That’s a great article! I think this commercial is professional quality that sends the message right out to the viewer in short order. We still hear of a lot of people who missed the last show from the abbreviated Season 2 that don’t even know the show was cancelled again! The program aired at the 10p slot, got no promotion for Season2 by the Network, slashed the season from 22 episodes to 7 and kicked it off right after the writers strike – an avoidable mistake by networks that resulted in crippling ratings to every show on commercial television, as well as a budget cut in production. Given the TLC it had in Season 1, the commitment, proper funding and promotion, airing at a decent hour for working families, and counting internet viewing, ipod viewing, as well as On Demand viewing for audience share (let’s all move into the 21st century eh?) this show is going to be back. The Jericho Fan Base is professional, determined, and obviously we earn our own money and enough of it to impress any sponsor of this series. We made history, we made our own commercial! Moonlight didn’t have us!

thanks for your article. rp’s work on the commercial is outstanding; as well as many, many fan’s involvement with campaigns to get us a season three. Jericho is worth all the blood, sweat and tears.
