Announcing NTV Screenings Los Angeles
You LA peeps were awesome the last time we came to town and had a casual meetup, so we hope you’ll bring your friends to our first-ever NewTeeVee Pier Screenings Los Angeles edition. Join us on August 28th at Catchlight Studios for a night of online video-watching on a big screen accompanied by popcorn, beer and good people. It’s all free, though we do have limited space at this indoor facility. Register for your ticket here.
Our theme for the LA event is NON-HUMAN, which isn’t meant to be a double entendre, but you can take it that way if you wish. What we do mean is anything on-screen that doesn’t involve human actors: animation, puppets, animals, machinima, or whatever other interpretation you have. Submissions will be accepted any time before August 21; our editorial team will pick six finalists to be shown.
Please help us get the word out if you can — it was super impressive at our San Francisco event last week to see the level of quality online video is starting to reach. As always, we prefer videos (or clips of videos) to be less than five minutes long and to have been made in the last year.
We also have an exciting new sponsor for the event, Etchstar, which will be providing on-site etchings for attendees’ cell phones. Etchstar will also be giving our winning video creator a custom laptop etching. And thanks ever so much to our excellent returning sponsors — ON2 Technologies, G-Technology, Volomedia, Move Networks and DF SPlash — and our great partners Eventbrite, Mozes, and BitGravity.
