Yet Another Lawsuit Involving YouTube
GraphOn, a company that creates remote application access software has filed a lawsuit against Google claiming that a number of Google products including YouTube infringe on GraphOn’s patents.
According to CNET, the patents named in the suit cover “a method of maintaining an automated and network-accessible database.” GraphOn obtained the patents through a 2005 acquisition of Network Engineering Software.
Google is just the latest target for GraphOn, which brought similar suits against Yahoo, IAC and others. The suit is also the latest claim filed against YouTube, and though being sued isn’t fun, it must be nice for the video sharing site’s legal team to finally handle a case that doesn’t involve copyright infringement.
