Talk Like a Pirate Day: Your Handy Guide

Talk Like A Pirate Day is arrrrrguably one of the Internet’s most ridiculous holidays, but hey, what better day than Friday for a few minutes of swashbuckler-themed frivolity? And there’s a decent variety of activity to choose from:

  • Ninja of Ask a Ninja will be doing a live uStream chat at 3 PM PST/6 PM EST. “Ninjas just pity pirates,” the Ninja says in a press release. “They are just poorly educated, physically disabled people with substance abuse problems. They should not be celebrated, they should be put into a 12-step program or killed.”
  • “Video Twittering” site 12seconds.tv is offering special pirate prizes to those who vlog it up accordingly.
  • The Perils of the Pirate Princess, a web series created by Hollywood stunt professionals, launched today — it’s a little light on story, but packs plenty of action into its first 90-second episode.
  • And as for pirate-related comedy, Bus Pirates is the story of a Culver City bus taken over by pirates. (This is why no one rides public transportation in LA.)

If there are any other online video celebrations of the day, please add to the comments. And may your websailing today be storm-free, and the RIAA unaware of your piracy. Avast!
