It also has been connecting a record breaking 14 million simultaneous users ever since the beginning of of this week.

No it hasn't. They have been recording 14 million PEERS connected to TPB torrents. A single peer / user can and usually will be connected to more than one torrent swarm. TPB has no way of - and would never try to - match up IPs between different torrent swarms. So you are wildly overestimating the number of simultaneous bittorrent users with that statement.

Im in the US and I frequently download shows despite the wide availibility of online TV Shows .

Why?

Because there's no midroll ads (Hint give me more overlays and targeted advertisng )

I can watch it on my TV in my Loungeroom via XBMC (Hint Networks provide downloads/streams and make sure they work on game consoles and other boxes that are in peoples lounger rooms )

Better Quality (The Downloads available on Bittorent are usually better quality than the flash versions from the broadcasters )

The US broadcast Window forces the networks to make the content available at least 12 hours after it airs on bittorent popular shows are up within 15-45 minutes after they air on the east coast (Hint geo block streams via timezone so I can watch the show minutes after it airs in the east coast)

TF1, the #1 TV channel in France, has Heroes on VOD 24h after it airs in the US, for 2€ per episode. It started with season 2 and now they have season 3.

This is really the only way to fight piracy! and it works, I heard they had great numbers, way beyond any movie VOD success.

What I like the most about this is that the shows are in English, whereas series that air on TF1 channel are always dubbed in French which is unbearable.
