StatShot: Gossip Girl Tweets, Button Beats
After a holiday break, the StatShot is back, bringing you interesting numbers from around the NewTeeVee-verse.
Trendrr’s graph of the top Twittered TV shows for the week of Dec. 30 – Jan. 6 shows remained largely the same — but for the first time since we’ve been keeping track, Gossip Girl surpassed Heroes (by a long shot). It was just for one day, but a win is a win. Trendrr also expanded the list to the Top 6 shows since newcomer Superstars of Dance had a strong finish.

Speaking of newcomers, TorrentFreak’s list of the Top 10 Most Pirated Movies on BitTorrent is chock full of them (and half are still in theaters). Brad Pitt’s Benjamin Button flexed its youthful muscles, taking the top spot, while a grizzled Clint Eastwood and his Gran Torino cracked the list.

[...] According to the latest StatShot post from NewTeeVee, Gossip Girl is continuing it’s rapid ascension up the social media ladder by taking over the #1 spot on Trendrr’s list of most twittered TV shows. Heroes had previously held that title for a few months until the most recent results. The trendy show, which I blogged about recently regarding guilty pleasure shows, continues to do well within the TVLoop community as it is firmly implanted in the top 10 growth apps on a weekly and monthly basis. Gossip Girl, which currently has a total community of ~534K TVLoop members, saw a total increase of almost 3% in December to take fifth among active TV shows. [...]
