		<description>&lt;p&gt;Proprietary implementations like this have a limited life span.  As more and more we go to the Web, we will expect the freedom of the WEB on the TV.  Running a STB based on open standards that can connect to any media provider source.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Microsoft is all about control. Media Room, Xbox.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The future is all about freedom, something that Microsoft does not make products for.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Personally I would think Microsoft would want to squeeze as much money out of this multi billion dollar spend.  There is still time.  Will take quite some time for this shake down. PayTV networks will shrink and become nothing more then BIG internet pipe providers.&lt;/p&gt;
