14.3B Vids Viewed in December: comScore
The number of people watching videos online hit another record in December, according to stats released today from comScore. More than 14.3 billion videos were streamed to nearly 150 million unique viewers during the month, some 2 billion more than the number of videos streamed in November and an additional 4 billion over December of 2007 (which was a record-setting month at that time as well).
While Google/YouTube is always NO. 1 one, the company broke 5.9 billion videos streamed, and surpassed more than 100 million uniques, representing two out of every three Internet users who watched a video, according to comScore. And all eyes have been on Hulu since the election (and the Sarah Fey-lin videos), but Hulu not only held on to its audience but gained roughly 14 million streams and 2 million uniques from November to December.
Unlike January 2008, when the number of videos watched dipped from December 2007, January 2009 should get a nice boost from President Obama’s inauguration.
