Where to Watch Obama’s “State of the Union” Online

Technically, President Obama’s speech tomorrow night isn’t a State of the Union. Give the guy a break, he only started the job a month ago. Instead, his speech is considered a formal address to Congress. But after traffic went gangbusters for Obama’s inauguration online, networks are eager to carry this speech online as well.

ABCNews.com, is partnering with Nightline, ABC News NOW and Twitter to broadcast coverage and host an online conversation. Beginning at 8:30 p.m. ET, ABCNews.com will live stream the speech and viewers are encouraged to post their reactions on Twitter. At 10:30 p.m. ET, viewer reaction will be uploaded to ABCNews.com and co-anchor Terry Moran will respond to user comments. Analysis of the speech will be provided online through a special “Politics Live” discussion with Sam Donaldson and continue at 12:05 a.m. ET during Nightline, which be be shown at ABCNews.com.

CBS News will hold a live webcast of the speech and the GOP response from 9 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. ET, and immediately following the speech, anchor Katie Couric will have web-exclusive coverage that will include user-submitted questions.

CNN is once again partnering with Facebook to carry the event online along with comments from your friends starting at 8 a.m. ET, and running all day until midnight ET (!). Coverage will include Obama’s speech, the GOP response and a two-hour special edition of Anderson Cooper 360. Additionally, CNN anchor John King will be hosting State of the Union with John King from noon to 1 p.m. ET; users can pose questions to CNN’s political team.

MSNBC’s coverage will include live streaming from NBC News and MSNBC TV, as well as interactive tools for supplemental information.

Hulu will be live-streaming the speech starting at 9 p.m. EST.
