Will Ferrell Stumps Tom Hanks On SNL Celebrity Jeopardy
It was old folks home last night on Saturday Night Live as former cast member Will Ferrell returned to promote the upcoming Land of the Lost send off the 34th season of the show. And that meant reviving one of his signature characters — Jeopardy host Alex Trebek.
But even if the man playing Trebek is now himself a celebrity, it’s not an SNL Jeopardy sketch unless it’s Celebrity Jeopardy. So alongside Kristin Wiig as Kathy Lee Gifford and Darrell Hammond as Sean Connery, why not sneak Norm Macdonald to play Burt Reynolds? And while you’re at it, maybe Tom Hanks also has a movie coming out this weekend? Maybe he’ll want to stop by and play himself? Well, how about that.
The sketch is on par with the classic editions, enough to make one wish that Ferrell might just come back to the show full-time. I mean, being a movie star can’t be that much fun, right?
