Move Networks Names Roxanne Austin CEO
Move Networks, which excused longtime Chief Executive John Edwards amid layoffs in an attempt to hone its focus, has hired a replacement. Roxanne Austin will serve as president, CEO and board member, the company announced today.
Austin was president and COO of DirecTV from 2001 to 2003, and most recently had led her own investment and consulting firm. She is on the board of Ericsson, Target, Abbott Laboratories and Teledyne Technologies as well as the board of trustees for the California Science Center. Former CEO Edwards was named executive chairman of the board of directors in February, according to a statement provided to NewTeeVee at the time.
Move, which recently acquired Inuk Networks, aims to offer a combined IPTV and Internet television delivery platform. Today it offers web delivery for customers such as ABC, ESPN, Fox and Televisa. Austin emphasized in an emailed statement that the company wants to make professional online content distribution profitable. We aim to learn more when we speak to her later today.

Let us not forget Roxanne Austin was also the chief organizer when Directv sued some 30,000 people. Many of whom she and others knew those sued were innocent. It is always nice to speak of achievements but to report objectively, the whole story need be told. Many of those innocent people sued remain today under confidential agreements which have taken constitutional rights away. So all American? Not when people she sued continue under oppressive agreement disregarding constitutional rights. I would like to know from Roxanne just how she would like her right suppressed by confidential agreement.
