NewTeeVee Re-Run: Paul McCartney Cooks Mashed Potatoes
Given that it’s Thanksgiving, we had to do some kind of holiday-related post. I thought about doing a what I’m thankful for, but then remembered this gem from last year.
You’re hard-pressed to find a tripper video than this — watch in awe as Paul McCartney (yes, THE Paul McCartney) teaches you how to cook mashed potatoes. Even weirder, this doesn’t appear to be some TV show from the vaults as McCartney references the Internet.
I can’t vouch for how tasty these taters are, but it’s a different type of visual feast, to be sure.

This was done not long after his wife Linda passed on. I remember watching on the internet.
This was done in 1999, to promote his new album, Run Devil Run. Linda had just died and he was too depressed to do a standard “promotional tour,” so he did some interviews (and this little cooking show) via webcam.
Hey Eleanor (Rigby?)
Thanks! I was unaware. It’s still trippy.
What about the onions?????
